The History

Established in 2013, CAM Fort Bend, formerly known as the Katy Contemporary Art Museum or KCAM, is a not-for-profit institution in Fort Bend County, Texas, dedicated to presenting the contemporary art of our region to the public. CAM Fort Bend provides an interchange for visual arts of the present and recent past, presents new directions in art, strives to engage the public and encourages a greater understanding of contemporary art through education programs.

CAM Fort Bend is a field museum dedicated to reaching our Fort Bend population from one end of the county to the other and growing a wider audience. CAM Fort Bend is known for introducing art to so many.  Now it is bringing art to YOU by creating pop-up art shows, traveling exhibitions and more!

The headquarters office for CAM Fort Bend may be found inside the Fort Bend Art Center in historic downtown Rosenberg, at 2012 Avenue G.

Ana Villaronga

FOUNDER

Villaronga has 28 years in the Houston area art world. She is the Founder, Museum Director and Curator of CAM Fort Bend, the founder of the Katy Culture & Arts Alliance and the Fort Bend Culture & Arts Alliance, advisor to Art League Fort Bend, past president of Katy Area Artists, and owner of Tradarte Inc.  Ana also served on the board of directors of ARTreach, has been called to advice the Center for Houston’s Future on arts and culture in the suburbs, is a member of Texas Women for the Arts and The Association of Art Museum Curators. Villaronga pushed to stretch the photography biennial, FotoFest Houston, to include Katy and Fort Bend. She is honored to have been chosen by Houston Press to be one of Houston’s 100 Creatives 2013. This year she has been honored as Woman of the Year for Art by Sucesos Newspaper and Solo Mujeres Magazine.
